Belfast Harbour: A Digital, Sustainable Gateway for the Future

Belfast Harbour, a gateway to Northern Ireland, is committed to advance regional prosperity through a long-term investment programme.
Located on the Dublin Belfast Economic Corridor, its strategic position offers unparalleled connectivity for businesses, making it a prime location for international trade.
By investing £313 million over the next five years – £208 million in port improvements and £105 in estate and waterfront regeneration – the region’s leading port will be reinforced as a vital economic hub.
Its sustained pioneering efforts to diversify and decarbonise will help reimagine and regenerate the city and advance regional prosperity.
A £374 million capital investment in the past decade strengthened Belfast Harbour as an innovative economic force, created jobs, attracted major foreign investment and boosted sectors from net zero tech to tourism and the creative industries. The imminent delivery of an iconic waterfront at City Quays and Titanic Quarter will secure a lasting legacy for Belfast and beyond.
Handling 70% of the region’s seaborne trade, Belfast Harbour will invest over £200 million in modernising its facilities – including a £90 million deepwater quay – so that customers have a stronger, more resilient port.
It will also expand trade, cruise tourism, offshore wind, screen and clean tech, while creating vibrant, sustainable and inclusive new communities.
An investment of over £100 million will create new neighbourhoods with quality homes, modern offices and lively recreation areas.
By developing its estate, Belfast Harbour will secure a better, sustainable future. It will create innovation clusters in offshore wind, green tech, cyber security and advanced manufacturing. Its location and infrastructure will attract manufacturers who want to leverage Northern Ireland’s unique dual market access.
Belfast Harbour is committed to an economy with a neutral carbon impact. Hence its ambition for a new facility for the assembly and installation of offshore wind turbines, helping it become a leading hub for offshore wind. Belfast Harbour also aims to be net zero in its own operations by 2030.
It’s not just about moving cargo—it’s about moving forward. With its focus on sustainability, innovation, and economic growth, Belfast Harbour offers an exciting gateway of opportunity for global trade.
