Primeline Group: How the Dublin Belfast Corridor gives a leader in logistics the edge

Primeline Group is Ireland’s largest independent provider of logistics and route to market solutions to some of the world’s leading brands. It was named Employer of the Year at the 2025 Irish Logistics and Transport Awards and employs 1300 people from across 44 different nationalities.
The firm has its headquarters at Ashbourne Business Park, adjacent to the Dublin-Belfast Corridor, which has proven to be a key element in the development of Primeline Group’s logistics network. Its fleet of vehicles now makes over 25,000 deliveries to more than 7,500 outlets around Ireland each week. It covers every town in Ireland every day and its sales team calls on more than 3,000 retail outlets monthly.
The Dublin-Belfast Corridor enables easy access to vital transport routes for Primeline Group, connecting the company’s operations with customers nationwide and offering a strategic advantage in fulfilling demand across a wide range of industries and brands such as Boots, Lindt, Unilever and Colgate.
In addition to operational excellence, Primeline Group places a high value on environmental sustainability, which was also recognised at the recent ILTA ceremony. The firm scooped the award for Sustainable Team of the Year, a win which recognised the exceptional work of Debbie Johnston, Jonatan Kreiser, and the wider team in embedding sustainability into its business operations. Primeline Group has long been investing in green initiatives, including a renewable energy contract with the Currabwee windfarm and a commitment to reducing CO2 emissions across its logistics network. In 2024, the firm opened the largest Irish-owned net zero energy building compliant distribution centre at 360,000sq ft in size.
In total, Primeline Group’s premises covers over 1.5 million sq ft of warehouse space, optimised with cutting-edge technologies like SAP4HANA and Microsoft Azure. These advancements allow the team to maintain real-time visibility, seamless integration and automation within its supply chain. The company’s investment in innovation also extends to Primeline Express, a division offering bespoke logistics solutions, full-load freight services and a fully automated customs brokerage to ensure the smooth transfer of goods between the UK and Ireland.
Primeline Group is committed to nurturing and promoting a fully diverse workforce into the future. As well as welcoming colleagues from dozens of nationalities, it has developed an overall gender balance of males to females of 2:1, with a similar ratio at leadership level. The team was especially proud to win the ILTA’s Women in Logistics & Transport – Commercial category, which recognised the outstanding contribution of QHSE Manager Eleanor Treanor.
As it looks to the future, Primeline Group’s leadership and development programmes have played a critical role in fostering internal talent and enhancing job satisfaction. Two in particular have proved highly successful in providing clear pathways for career progression – 90% of participants in Rising Stars have been promoted while two cohorts of people have already graduated from the Bringing Leaders Forward initiative.
These bespoke schemes, along with others including Forward Thinking Leaders and Presenters with Purpose have all equipped Primeline Group colleagues with the skills needed to excel and advance in their careers within the company – a fact that is further reinforced by the fact that 78% of supervisor roles have been filled internally. These efforts have not only enriched the talent pipeline but also bolstered colleagues’ engagement and loyalty, contributing to Primeline Group’s reputation as an employer of choice in a competitive market.
Primeline Group is further tackling that tight labour market through its new talent development review process, within its logistics operation. This scheme aims to further support and develop the skills among the Group’s high performers and has helped grow its rate of internal promotions to 20%.
By leveraging its prime location, technology and commitment to sustainable practices, Primeline Group isn’t just meeting the demands of today’s market—it’s shaping the future of logistics in Ireland and beyond.
This combination of forward-thinking strategies and a prime geographical location ensures that Primeline continues to thrive as a leader in the logistics and distribution industry.
